Innovating Pathology: Digiscan's Journey from Conception to Technological Mastery

Thumb

In 2011, Digiscan embarked on a groundbreaking mission: to revolutionize pathological research through advanced imaging technology. Specializing in the meticulous scanning of glass slides, Digiscan meticulously curated a comprehensive database of pathological lesions, tailored to the exacting requirements of scientists worldwide.
This foundational period provided Digiscan with invaluable insights into scanner technology, laying the groundwork for future innovations. As the company navigated this initial phase, the resounding praise from scientists regarding the exceptional image resolution and software versatility served as a powerful morale boost, fueling Digiscan's onward journey toward excellence in pathological imaging solutions.

Founders Dr. Mithilesh Chandra, a histopathologist, and Dr. Ratish Chandra, a dental surgeon, envisioned a contribution to society. Together, they pioneered the creation of a digital slide library housing thousands of slides, aimed at benefiting undergraduate medical students and pathology residents.

Dr. Mohit Chandra and Ms. Ishu Chandra injected fresh perspectives into Digiscan's mission. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, they innovatively addressed the educational gap by facilitating interactive sessions featuring lectures by esteemed faculty. These lecture videos became highly sought-after resources among pathology residents, offering invaluable support during a time of restricted access to institutions.

At Digiscan, our mission is clear: to deliver a superior, meticulously organized pathology experience accessible to all. We are committed to enhancing the educational landscape across various interdisciplinary healthcare fields through the exploration of pathology. Through our efforts, we strive to cultivate a vibrant community of both learners and educators, united in our pursuit to propel the realms of pathology and medical education forward.

We envision a future where access to high-quality pathology resources empowers individuals across diverse healthcare disciplines to deepen their understanding and expertise. By fostering a dynamic community of learners and educators, Digiscan seeks to catalyze advancements in pathology and medical education, ultimately contributing to improved healthcare outcomes and enhanced professional development worldwide.

The brainchild of Dr. Mithilesh Chandra, a distinguished histopathologist with over 45 years of practice in New Delhi, India, the company stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment to pathology. Dr. Chandra's illustrious career encompasses not only clinical expertise but also a profound scholarly contribution, boasting numerous published medical works and articles.
Recipient of accolades from the Government of India and prestigious fellowships from various universities, Dr. Chandra's dedication to pathology research has been widely recognized. With a keen eye on emerging Digital Pathology Imaging technologies, she embarked on a mission to digitize her vast body of work, culminating in the creation of a comprehensive digital image library. This endeavor aims to serve the medical community across diverse domains, including education, research, and the burgeoning field of AI-based diagnostics.
